Talking My Cat is in Heat - Should I Snip His Balls?

My cute little kitten, that was so good, and shy when I first got it, has changed.

He is now climbing the walls, ripping my blinds apart, and rubbing himself all over everything. He runs around all night, and wakes me up in the morning. He is nearing the six month mark, where I've read boys can also go in heat (go figure!), not just girls. So, I don't know whether I should put him out of his misery by getting him snipped. It looks like I need to get his shots first though.

What should I do with it? Any suggestions? I've thought of chucking him out the window, locking him in the bathroom, snipping his balls myself (it cost money you know to do it at the vet Anything else?

    ^^ PB,

Don't snip the balls. That would be too painful.

I suggest nuetuering you kitty-kat. Or otherwise, send him to a Chinese restaurant.

    absolutely.

made the mistake of not snipping 2 of mine.

1 dissapeared and came back 2 months later.

my favourite fukked off on Christmas day this year.

it's much healthier for them, they don't end up wandering off looking for girls, getting lost, hit by cars etc.
there is a feline version of HIV.

believe me, however homely they are and mine never left my side and was always on my lap in front of the PC, the urge to mate is far greater than the urge to stay at home and watch you post.

    nope.

    it's a feline disease.

cats are likely to become sick if left un neutered.
that's if they manage to survive the starvation, the roads, the weather.

it's much kinder to neuter them and i regret not getting Gethin done.
i've missed him since he left, he was only a year old.

    mightn't see him again.

i have 6....., but he was by far my favourite.

4 females and one other male have been fixed.

    one is still too young.

My cat doesn't go outside, he's a housecat, so I doubt he'd get HIV

Did you snip them yourself, CMN?

I'd never send him to a chinese restaurant cause I wouldn't wanna eat kittyballs.

bit cruel to leave a cat inside when he's wanting to shag.

    must be hitting the walls.

    get him snipped.

    why wouldn't you?

if he's a housecat, he's not going to be needing them.

^ he may be a sensitive man, nothing wrong with that.

I will not leave my kitty outside.... not because I'm mean, but because Koreans will kill it, or it'll end up like all the other street cats (feral and used to make soup). Koreans hate cats. They don't have them for pets. Koreans think they are dirty, so they keep little dogs instead. Go figure that one!

Thai vets dont charge that much and its a simple op.
It will give both you and your cat a much better quality of life.

Just make sure you have him in and escape proof container with lots of ventilation when you take him to the vet. Cats can panic and run off in strange surroundings.

    cats and dogs love eachother.

when i take the dogs for a walk, all the bloody cats follow.

    it's quite a sight.

why would you not chop off his balls Miss Bound?

^Do you take cats for a walk? I've thought of doing that, but I hear they are hard to walk.

    strange.

they don't follow me if i go out alone, but if i take the dogs, the whole lot of them are there right behind us.

2 of them can use the toilet, but we try to discourage that.

    got a big garden.

Just had our female Pug Neutered as she was tearing through the fence to get out for a shag.

Unless you intend to bread the pet have them doctored and you will find very often they end up better pets.

Male cats will always want to roam, that is natural and unless you have them desexed.

I've had one, but a friend of mine did.

If I get a dog again in the future, I'll consider a pug.

Cut little doggies, with a black face. They seem to have good temperament.

^Yes, isn't that funny about male cats wanting to roam.
I wouldn't let him out. I live in a highrise, and letting him out is a no-no around here. He'd be killed in an instant.

Yes, I'm in Korea at the moment, but I hear it is a relatively simple procedure. It must be painful though? I wouldn't know. Is there a long recovery time?

I do have a great cat bag, as I wouldn't want my cat being left out on the street here in Korea. Wouldn't want him to become bbqued lunch.

Snip him! Better if he did get out,….he wouldn’t/couldn't father any unwanted kittens.

You answered your own question. You cat now wants to go outside and explore. The best way to keep him home is neutering. I cant think of any other options.

They can use a toilet? Well isnt that sweet! That will be next on my list. Maybe he will flush himself down there, so I don't have to put up with his naughtiness.

For all those that tell me to let him outside. I'd have to say, that is a big no where I'm living. If I had a big yard, and I lived out any place other than BKK, then I'd let him out.

You better get him done before he starts spraying. Nothing cute about cat urine.

I responded too one of your posts on another doggie thread but yes Pugs are top dogs and that really surprised me as it was not decision to buy her.

I thought they were fragile little things but my pug will fight me for hours and she is strong as an ox.

Took me 10 minutes to teach her to sit and if she comes in the house she will sit only on a mat next to the door.

All in all a great little family addition.

Will he do that? I heard that boys sometimes will do that (humans too).

Yes, I better hurry him there tomorrow even. I think he has to get all his shots first though. I also heard that some vets won't do it, if they are past six months.

    I like pugs too.
