I remember when Red Horse came out the barkeeps hated it! people that were drinking 10-12 bottles a night of san Mig were calling in and drinking 3-4 Red Horse then crashing on the bar.

The Red Horse is OK. But it's too strong, I think, 6.9%? I can taste the alcohol. (This from a guy who drinks Chang daily.)

    In case you missed it:

When drinking beer chang seems like the best deal. For variety I'll switch to tiger or heineken.
I've tried the new san miguel offerings. They're ok but a bit generic.
Kloster is a good standby now that carlsberg has stepped out of the market.
I don't why but when carlsberg was all the rage you couldn't find a bottle of Kloster here in Patong to save your life. Now Kloster is back.

Ok, just to satisfy your curiousity, here an abrieved version of one of the less embarrassing events:
Asked a 'bellyboy', as they are called in the Philippines, to give me one doggy style. The little jerk had smoked too much Shabu to be able to rise into the condom, so that was a huge disappointment. Still, he managed to steal 1000Pesos out of my backpocket before he left.

I was curious about the term "bellyboy", so I looked it up and found this:

And Wiki suggested I look at this article: "An Elephant Makes Love to a Pig"

    I have my own....

BTW -- I won't buy the Red Horse again. Last night I had one Red Horse, two Chang (all cans) and one very light SangSom and soda and I end up with a nasty headache this morning. I never get hung over so I have to attribute this to something in the Red Horse.

Cheers - worst fucking beer in Thailand

San Miguel , Tiger , Heineken - good stuff - San Miguel is my favourite. (get some down your neck Dog)

    Singha - rank

Chang - rank but not as rank as Singha.

    Leo - ok and cheap.

    Yep, same problem here.
I had a cup of coffee first thing this morning and felt really rough.
I might have to change back to Nescafe

At last - someone on here with intact taste buds. The San Mig Pale Pilsner is the one.

Obviously, the best beer in Thailand is Old Speckled Hen, but it's not available in many places and it can be a bit iffy sometimes (The Barbican pours the best pint). My main tipple is Guinness though.

I usually drink Tiger, Singha or Leo here. I wake up with headaches everytime I drink Chang.
Never tried San Miguel but I had some Ice Beer (brewed by San Miguel) that tasted not bad. Anyone tried this brand ?
I'm always ready for a good draught when available.
I avoid Heineken here as well as in my homecountry, looks like water to me.

    Off topic sorry:
I would like to drink more wine (white an red), but expensive and not so much good choice here. And it's seems to me that it taste not as good as at home. As the wine doesn't like temperature variations, it could be the cause.

Around 50 Baht per bottle, I think.
Similar to Tiger, Kloster and Asahi.
