well after a heavy night on the beer and spirits and one in particular drink Yah dong
im just wondering if anyone knows what its made from and is it any good for your health as the thai's seem to think it is ,but im reserving judgment for the time being as my head and body feel like shit.
So what do you folks know about yah dong?

The herbs and resins in Yah-Dong might have some beneficial (and other) qualities, but the spirit it's dissolved in definitely hasn't.

    I am talking from experience.

There are lots of different recipes for yah dong, if you go to a yah dong bar they'll give you a menu showing all the different types they do, the mixtures have nice colorful names like "ladyboy's friend", "strong man" and "monk's ruin".

Rawlins posted a pic thread about making your own in January, https://teakdoor.com/thailands-wine-c...tml#post491685 (Yaa Dong..crazy drink recipe. Try this at home.)

Good article here too, Yaa Dong -Thai Herbal Whiskey |GlobalHangoverGuideŽ

No doubt. All yah dong tastes the same to me, very like the kind of cheap sherry favoured by Glaswegian alcoholics.

I have bought the bottle with the sticks already in it from up near Loei ( dan sai ) before and just filled it with Jamesons .

I had a bottle of this rice whiskey which I purchased at an OTOP event - it was quite nice , eminently sippable

If you torture data for enough time , you can get it to say what you want.

Good old Rawlins, poor guy just left Pattaya and went back to work yesterday but he makes a wicked Yaa Dong, but be warned it is proper loopy juice, i have personaly witnessed a few Thai girls proper freak out on the stuff, now i ain't no believer in ghosts and all that supernatural mumbo jumbo but these girls were proper possessed to the point i was starting to get scared.

The names do add a much needed touch of class to this beverage. I remember trying some of 'Bin Laden's love juice' on one occasion. It would have been rude not to.
