I'll agree with you about the Phillipino San Miguel - great beer - drank a fair few bottles of the stuff as a teenager in Manila .

Welsh bourbon? - what's the deal with that?

WHY IS THAI BEER SO SHITE?

read something in the BK post the other day about the poor refrigeration process here thus they throw in additives but maybe that's just a myth...low quality ingredients?

this fomaldehyde story about Chang - I don't really beleive it but who knows - Thai beer definitely gives me a bad head the next day even if I only drink 2 big ones!

That was about Singh, and has long since been disproved. Was a big rumor in the days before refrigerated trucks here. Singh sitting in the heat of April for a month, good rumor.

Chang is preferred beer, But will drink most anything. San Miquel as you mentioned is a great beer.

A good Scotch. Vodka in a water bottle to mix with fruit shakes here in Thailand is another one I like as well.

Vodka or clear rum is actually preferable.

I don't believe it for a fuckin' minute..
man if you gotta feel better about drinkin' it go on ahead skip this link to the Jack Daniels Website
Although it would explain why it tastes like fuckin' coal oil.
Wild Turkey; now, that's the stuff. I keep goin on about the single barrel stuff but... you gotta try it.
Quote:
Jack Daniel, one of 13 children, was born in 1850. He was raised by a family friend before being hired out to work with the Dan Call family at the age of seven. Call, a Lutheran minister, also owned a whiskey still on the Louse River. Over the next several years, Jack learned everything he could about whiskey making from Call. Then, in September of 1863, under increasing pressure to devote his life to lifting spirits rather than selling them, Call sold his still to Jack, who was just 13 at the time.
Jack Daniel, like Dan Call, believed in mellowing fresh whiskey through hard maple charcoal. While this process was widely used, the time and expense involved made it less popular with penny-pinching whiskey makers. But Mr. Jack thought it was essential, so he perfected his charcoal mellowing process back in 1866. To this day, this still gives Jack Daniel's its smooth character and unique taste. In anticipation of government taxes, Mr. Jack registered his distillery in 1866. He was the first to do so. Making it the nation's oldest registered distillery.
Ain't one goddam mention of Wales, Welsh or any place other than the good ol' U S of mother-fuckin' A. CMN telling you tales again?

and BTW- Ya'll can raise the postcount of admission to certain reas to five hunnert now. Think I'm gonna celebrate; fry up a mess o' wings, some onion rings, maybe have an ice cream.

Fuck! I keep eating like that I'll never live to see a thousand.

No fizzy shit - just ice.

Alternatively, you can save it until the weekend after, as I'll be in Chiang Mai then.

Good whiskey/whiskey is one of the finer things in life; and The Wild Bird is damn good whiskEy! Had a scot living in the bungalow next to mine we'd sit out on the porch, watchin' the sun set behind Viti Levu sippin' single malt for him and a single barrel for me. no ice, no water or soda; just a glass, the sun and a resort full of vacationing scuba bunnies waitin' up the hill... fuckin tough life it was. Hated every minute of it.
