    Wat Sawangpha/Naklua Temple

The only reason we went to Wat Sawangfa today is that they have a Sunday market here that sells plants and orchids, yep the galfriend has decided to turn part of the land into a plant farm.

There are 2 temples here next to each other, one is the traditional garish red type and then there is this one.

It's actually locked, Seems that Pattaya and Naklua attract the bad Thais that like to steal stuff from Temples

Nice shots, they bring back some happy memories. I lived in Narklua for over seven years and regularly visited this temple.

There’s also the Teak Pagoda in Narklua that is closed to the public. The story is that it is being built by the guy who owns to Merc Franchise in Thailand. Soon after he started building he was told that he would die the day he finished the Pagoda. So he stopped building.
Back in the early 90s I used to sneak in and wander around, take photos etc but as time passed security tightened. I eventually got chased out by a couple of security guards, quite old and not fleet of foot, but armed with bluddy big knives. I offered them the usual cash in hand to let me take some photos inside, but they were having none of it and I never went back since.

I should add, the temple in Narklua is where I first witnessed ‘Wiang Tian’ and where my children learned to make ‘Kratongs’.
So much for claims that there is no Thai culture to be found in Pattaya.
