    Buriram province temples

There's so many temples in Buriram, most are a pile of blocks, and some i havent visited mainly due to not able to ride a motorbike. This is Phanom Rung Historical Park which is atop an extinct volcano.. Built in the 10th and 13th centuires during the reign of King Suriyavarman. The restoration took 17 years to complete.

    some more Naga heads

its impossible to get it all in one shot, without getting the other ruins from behind me getting in the shot, and i was through a window at this point.

some other ruins in the area of the Historical park. i just happen to see them and ask the driver to stop. But i don't know the names of these.

    Prasat Meuang Tam

Nice pictures, have been there as well. But why don't you get someone to teach you how to drive a small motorbike ? Travelling is often so much easier in Thailand with a Honda Wave or similar.

Drive a honda wave all around Thailand? Give me a car anytime!

I am really glad to see this thread as I visited here 5 years ago and had no idea what it was called or how I could find it again as I would like to take some visitors there.
News is what someone, somewhere is trying to suppress - everything else is just advertising.

Phanom Rung or Prasat Meuang Tam?

Phanom Rung can be visited from Khorat, Buriram and Surin. i just took a bus from Buriram to Ban Ta Pek, where i then took a motorcyle taxi to Phanom Rung. can go by Săwngthăew as well. Coming from Khorat, you stop by Ban Ta-Ko where you can get another trasfer to Ban Ta Pek, or you can drive yourself

my Taxi driver took me to Prasat Meuang Tam after i saw Phanom Rung.

mind you, i still want to see Prasat Baibak and Prasat Ta Meuan which is very difficult to get too, and the area might be closed cos it sits again on the thai/cambodian border.

Nothing of the kind, don't get me wrong. But whenever you arrive at a new town by bus or train it is very convenient and cheap to rent your own motorbike.
And since most places around Buriram seemed rather remote, with not too many visitors, a motorbike was perfect to explore the place.
