    Cha Am

    There's a very old fishing village just to the south of the Cha Am Regent. I don't think very many tourists make it there because it's off the beaten path, but it's an interesting place to look around. The name of the village is, I think, Baan Sai Yoi. I met a monk there who said that all four of his grandparents were born in the village. Here's a photo of the old wat, now used mostly for repairing fishing nets:

    I like Cha Am too. I always stop there overnight when traveling north or south.
