    Superb pictures EN, went there 15 years ago. I like the fresheness in the forest when climbing the steps of the waterfall. There is also a very big dam not far, very impressive.

    Very relaxing to enjoy a meal in a restaurant near the river in the sunset.

    What impressed me more than anything over the few days we were last there is that we had no problems at all with mosquitos, not even evenings by the river.

    No, this is a special train service that only runs on weekends and public holidays as I thought I quite clearly explained earlier with the link.
    100THB is the fare for a full round trip which takes a full day. 200thb for air-con.
    It's 2nd class air-conditioned also and Thais don't travel free on it.
    In addition, you have to book in advance and you can't "just pay 50thb" nor hop on and off.

    You are obviously referring to the normal Kanchanaburi train service that runs twice a day.
