I am not sure about all of this .

I always thought that opening a business in Thailand is risky business that requires planning.

i was planning on opening a cafe/go go bar in town next

I dont slag the lonely planet, it has served me well over the years when I have arrived late into a strange City with no idea wher to go, if I hadnt had it. What seems to have changed travelling or backpacking as it is known now is the bloody net and not the LP. When I was travelling first (in the late 80s) if you walked into a restaurant and there were only three people sat together a four seating table, you asked to join them. Hell it would be rude to sit alone. I met some of the most amazing people this way and found out more than the LP could ever offer, but it was still useful when I was in unknown territory. example, arriving in Calcutta aged 19 at near midnight. Since the dawn of email people seem to be travelling by appointment and head for an email cafe to find their mates when they arrive somewhere. I dont knock it. If i was 19 now and travelling I would be most likely doing the same.
