    Koh Samet

Well after telling the misses that Ko Si Chang is out of the q for the impending break we have decided on Samet (been to Koh Chang too many times). Anyway, can anyone make recommendations for bungalows on the beach - wheras you can walk straight out the door onto the beach. Aircon would be sweet though a fan will do and in a reasonably lively area. we are going next week and anything between 1-2000baht/night will do. Cheers all.

If you want it a bit quieter try Sametville on Ao Wai, its the only complex and alot of the bungalows are 3 meters to the private beach. The food is only okay is the drawback. You can walk to other nicer restaurants in about 30 minutes.

I always used to stay at "the silver sands" guest house.
Right on the beach in a pretty lively area.

Always enjoyed it, nice enough rooms, but not overly up market.
    I'm guessing 600 baht a nightthese days.

If you like a quiet one, I recomend "Ao Sangtein". It's lovely there.

I agree it's busy, but I believe the op said he wanted a not too quiet one owing to wanting to find someone other than his wife to enjoy.

Well, I guess I will, but please don't say anything to the wife.

Anyway, Ko Samet is great. We go down there all the time.
However, we go down to the south part of the 'iceland'. Very beautiful except for the occasional sightings of a fat German man in a Speedo or his equally obese wife in a string bikini.

I stayed in one of the more popular areas and it was still pretty quiet.

Buckets of G & T were really cheap though. Four of them gets you well wankered.

Wongduen is packed at the weekend. Packed out. Only go during the week. This poster was very inebriated.
