| Hifaluten Member | Olympic Torch Relay in Bangkok The Kerr’s had a few hours to kill today so we decided to travel into Bangkok and check out the Olympic torch relay along Ratchadamnoen Avenue. The Chinese put on a great show, and the free Tibet crew were your typical Khao San Rd rent a crowd types. Anyway here a few pics and vids of the afternoon. ^ Crazy Thai chap

| Hifaluten Member | The Protestors The Protestors There was always going to be a few protestors around but they largely went unnoticed by most. One bloke painted silly pictures on himself, another set something on fire. Rather uninspiring mob really. Their messages were lost on most of the Thais there. ^ I overheard one educated looking Thai family discussing whether Tibet was in Africa or Europe ^ Things got a bit smoky from time to time but no one seemed too worried ^ The media chaps liked this but I thought it looked a bit of a piss weak kids production Last edited by Wayne Kerr : 19-04-2008 at 08:17 PM. |

| Hifaluten Member | The Boys in Brown The Boys in Brown The boys in brown were out in force and trying to look serious. Saw one cameraman give a copper a good right hook when they tried to stop him crossing the road. I was expecting an arrest but the cop backed down ... was worried about causing a scene I think. ^ Wayne Jnr nearly ended up in the can for trying to jump the barricade ^ All in all the BiB were in good spirits |

| Hifaluten Member | The Torch The Torch With the aim of fooling those keen to “interfere” with the torch, the Thais deployed a few decoy runners. The certainly tricked me and I thought it was the chap in the pic below. Fortunately Mrs. Kerr got the real guy on video. Things got a bit hectic when he ran by as you can see in the vid. ^ One of the the decoy runners. You can catch the real thing in the vid below: |

| Did they bundle up the protesters and waterboard them on site for all to see -- then ship their soggy carcasses off to Thai Cargo for shipment back to Tibet? Like they promised? |
