Lopburi the town of monkeys febuary 2008
Lopburi is 4.5 hours north of bangkok and has been made famous by its resident troops of monkeys that room the town creating havoc and mayhem. These incredibly smart animals are tolerated by the locals as people travel far and wide to witness there goings on and they have placed this little town firmly on the tourist map. I spent a few days here, it was non stop entertainment watching the monkeys and exploring this pleasant little town.

How they dont get electrocuted is beyond me.
The Nett Hotel. A good budget hotel in the middle of the action.
Lopburi has a brilliant arvo, evening market.
I cant resist these stalls that sells duck and gag for it.
Shrine Prang Sam Yot, monkey central.
This shrine in the middle of town is where the monkeys accumulate, they have claimed it as there own and there are hundreds of monkeys here at any time of the day or night.
