I received an unexpected phone call last Friday night (10pm), which resulted in us having to pop up to Korat to view a piece of land that had just come on the market. It was without hesitation that I agreed to drive up there the following Saturday morning, it was an ideal opportunity to break-in the new pick-up. Sometime between 10pm & midnight on Friday my wife arranged for two of her girlfriends to join us (without my knowledge), one of whom has relatives living in Korat. I wasn't to keen on taking along travelling companions, but what could I say.
Our route was to take us NE, Bang-Pain, Saraburi, Pak-Chong & into Korat. I elected to take the motorway as usually it's quite clear, however I hadn't bargained for the fact that it was new year & the Isarn folk would be making their way back to their villages. The nice motorway owners suspended toll payments, which resulted in huge traffic queues, much to my dismay.
Be warned, travelling with TG's has two main drawbacks, they have weak bladders & hungry mouths. Frequent stops are the norm and combined with huge traffic queues make road trips an uncomfortable experience.
Some shots taken on the way up there.
