Trip Report: A few days in Chiang Rai.

Miss Volleyball has a match there this evening, so I'm driving up tomorrow for 3 days of chilling.

Supposed to hook up with CJ, but unfortunately he had go overseas unexpectedly.

So where to go and what to do?

The White Temple is probably the most famous tourist attraction. So that's a definite.
Thinks there's a Black Temple just down the road from it.
Has a Night Bazaar for a stroll.
Think a few waterfalls are around there.
A wee hike and mountain viewtop would be nice.
    Hotsprings?

Anything else worth seeing or doing while up there?

    Cheers.

The white temple is fun if you like bus loads of Chinks.

    Maybe have a spitting contest.

Unless you stop in during off hours.

Great season for waterfalls and Chiang Rai has the best in Thailand I just read.
    Take in all of them

Hike up into the mountains and watch the sunrise from Phu Chi Fa lookout

    Fuck those temples

Here's where I nicked that from.

Fucker keeps trying to sell his ebook on there

    https://www.thelostpassport.com/thin...-rai-thailand/

All the hotsprings are listed on there too but probably best to go in winter

Dill, we've seen lulu's wildman side when he took on the 100m hillclimb and 3" rapids on his "i bagged a free gopro" thread.

Hopefully there'll be vids of him and half the Volleyball team frolicking in the hottubs.

I reckon he's going with Your Daddy though and it'll wind up like his thread with Hick, an abandoned building, his overnight bag and a missing pair of underpants.

Doi Khao Kwai is a cool spot to overlook the area. It is south of the city and quite a drive to get up there. There are a lot of stairs to get to the temple as well, so you can get some exercise at the same time. I went a long time ago and met up with someone who used to post on here who showed me around.

Singha park is cool to see as well.

Cheers, unfortunately I'm driving Miss VB's car up there as the MM needs our main one for work, and our 2nd car's radiator is currently dillied. Motorbike riding will just be a dream.

Day 1: Arrive n meet up. Lunch, go for a massage. Chill at the pool. Dinner. Night Bazaar.

Day 3: Breakfast. Pool. Massage. Check out and head back via..... one of the tourist attractions (White Temple/waterfall/mountain top/hot springs)

It's really a full day of itinerary that's needed for Day 2.

^cooking ell Fill you've excelled yourself with that masterpiece

I'd avoid meeting up with Fluke unless you want to end the night in the village cooler.

personally like Doi Mae Salong for a trip out. The temple of the emerald budda and the blue temple in Chiang Rai itself are nice. they have a market/ walking street also but never been. Agree with Ao ride up Doi Tung is nice, but not into the flowers and stuff, but a good cafeteria at the top. Also Chiang Saen and to the River
    probably my favourite province
    we won it at wemberlee
we on it in gay paree...
