A fun wee ride in the North.

Woke up early, drunk, in an odd personís house, so the day called for a splash oí water and a bike ride.

The Op Lunang National Park-Doi Inthanon National Park loop would do. Taking in the always lovely and quaint little Lamphun.

For some reason I found meself singing

    Look at the stars
Look how they shine for you
    And everything you do,
    Please donít do a poooooo.

    We all need sustenance.

Lamphun’s a lovely little town, designed on the same type of moat architecture as its big brother Chiang Mai.

Enough of that caper. Off to them there mountains.

    Hot.

    Quite aptly named, really.

I'll see yer pick-up sized sound system, Somchai, as raise it to that of a truck.

Just before hitting the loop I stopped off in a mom n pop shop for a few bottles of water. Got on great with the mom part of the duo. And was instructed to report back later so they know I made it back alive.

    Beach time in the North.

No I don't have their website or GPS location James.

Op Luang National park. Can pay 200 bahtski to walk down to a waterfall, or do what I do. Declare it’s 20 baht, and then start jumping up and down shouting in incomprehensible Thinglish, before storming off.

The roads are more fun anyway.

    Fantastic hills and mountain roads.

Be at one with the twisties me brothers.

    Endless fun.

85 degrees, dipped me finger in, twas a bit boily. Decided me feet didn’t really need a foot spa anyway.

Got back to the mom n pop shop to get some more water and report that I hadn’t deceased. After which I was promptly invited to a party.

Oh I do like a bit o’ partying.

Was led over to the house to meet everyone as it was being set up.

To much a chorus of catcalls, howls of Ohhhh hansum boy, various squawks, claps and questions of if I’m single.

    Why yes.

    Yes I am.

Back down to the mom n pop shop to buy a box o’ their finest upside down beer for the house, and a bottle of their finest Scotch (Led Laben) for me and me new mate Boonlert.

    To be continued.

    Lovely pics, Lu.

Do this in another month or more, the landscapes will be much different.

Been parched this dry season, hasn't it?

    Cheers.

Was a bit concerned for the longevity of me bottle o' Red Label when he christened it by pouring one third of it down his gullet.

Fortunately this was quickly followed by him keeling over in the ditch, making odd gurgling noises while clawing at the air.

Don't think anyone saw ol' Boonlert again for a day or two.

    Oh I do like a bit o' a party.

There's a shop in Seacon which has Jaaaagggg shirts for sale, largely checked, long and short sleeve - that pattern is very similar to one i've possibly, may have considered purchasing, maybe.

Much disco dancing later, arrived back for a feed.

    Yummy.

Do remember that it was stone fookin' cold, and been sitting in the pot for fok only knows how long.

Whiskey's good at killing infections anyway.

Time to kick back and enjoy the facilities.

Chickalick says I can stay in a house down the road and to follow her.

I have had nicer showers, I'll be honest.

    Errr.

Apparently the place was her deceased grandmother's, and now it's only used to banish Khun Por to when he gets drunk and starts to fight with everyone/various inanimate objects.

I pretended to brush me nashers while she made me up a bed on the floor, as dead granny's bed was broken. Probably due to Khun Por fighting it.

Woke up in the morning to luckily find it was her and not the deceased grandmother or Khun Por.

Couple o' roots and time for a coffee and to bugger off.

Some nice wee morning water scenes out that way.

    Before breakfast on the road.

    We all need sustenance.

All in all, a nice wee ride.

    The End.
