Mae Rim 1 day get away

Wife and I went up to a mountain top resort. Now this isn't a 5 star deal but it has everything you need and it was a great view and a cool relaxing night. Now keep in mind, there is no TV, No Wifi, no A.C. Each Bungalow has its own private bathroom with heated water. They serve you dinner on your deck. If I was ever going to go again, I would bring my own fold up chairs.

Couple of notes, the road up to the bungalows is not really car friendly. They have a lot you can park at base and they will come get you. Only a few folks dared the trek up. A truck is bare minimum. I have a video of the trek up and its rough. My wife having never really ever gone off-roading was scared to death. I just laughed

    Our bungalow.....

    View from the room.

    View looking North East

    View North west

Chilling with an ice cold beer in hand

Pic from Mavic Pro of bungalows and tents

    Beautiful sunset

Early morning Fog in the valley

Temp at night hit 13c with a nice breeze.

    Very, very nice J.

Perfect for an evening bottle of wine and selection of breads and cheeses.

    Rooting.

    And morning coffee.

Will have to check this place out. Cheers.

Looks good for throwing in some mountain biking, and biking up there.

Does there happen to be any mountain bike rental shops close to the base?

Here's a video someone made of the place. JPPR2 probably has a better video, though.

All of the above. I brought along my own beverages but beer is available. Rooms are spaced nice and reasonably private in the A section

Yes. The entire road up to until you turn to climb the mountain road to the resort was loaded with ATV rentals, Bike rentals and Zip Line businesses.

For such an off road adventure, your truck looks spotless.

Well Dil I wouldn't call it an off road adventure by any stretch.Just a crappy road up a steep hill in the mountains for about a mile that made my wife white knuckled. That road up however would be a blast in a big rain albeit I bet the locals don't think so. They do have some cement in the track areas but its rough going if in a car if you want the undercarriage to remain in tact.

I have to say I was a bit skeptical before we went based on my wife's info but we got there about 1pm and settled in on the deck and took in the view. The resort is on the peak so it's a 360 degree view of the valley.

    IMHO, it's great for a 1 day retreat. I couldn't imagine staying 2 or 3 days.

I told my wife if you had 3 or 4 couples and rented all 4 of the Bungalows in the A section you could have a pretty fun party and use the middle bungalow to play some big baht 7 card poker and drink and smoke.
