Thread: Swampy immigration on a "go slow" or what?

I flew into Swampy from Singapore at noon today.
I was first off the plane and legged it to immigration, like you do.

Got there and the queues were backed up down the slope and onto the the main drag!
In 12 years I've never seen it so bad.

Absolutely chocker block.

Fortunately the young lady monitoring people trying to get into the fast lane/Thai lane accepted my story and let me through.
A story in itself.
If she hadn't I'd have missed my connection to Chiang Rai.

Anyone experienced the same?
Are they on a go slow or was it just a really bad day?

did you check the other immigration ?

it is all the chin tourists - overloading the airports

the last couple of times it has taken me an hour to traverse security and immigration on the way out

last time I came in , one sde of immigration was full and I went to the other side and it was only sparsely populated

I flew into istanbul about 5 weeks ago and it took me an hour of waiting in line - and again , mostly chinese tour groups

I guess it is the same in many tourist country international airports - they are not ready to cope with the hordes of chin

Yes, there were indeed a horrible mass of the chinky persuasion.

Always use these guys even if travelling biz class when coming into swampy mainly for the cart ride

It's been heaving the last three or four times I've been there. Not right to the end of that ramp though...but two thirds of the way.

Baldrick...don't mention that other channel. You mentioned it once but I think you got away with it.

As you say...it's worse getting out.

Find a flight that lands at 5 to 7am. Never been more than 15 deep in the queue.

I passed through 4 times in the last year. Every time it's quiet.
