    Royal Thai Air Force Museum

Today, I visited the Royal Thai Air Force Museum. The cost is free and well worth the visit. It is open just about everday except holidays from 0900-1600. Close to the Don Muang Airport just off of Paholyothin Road. Now, I am not an expert on airplanes. Hell, i use to jump out of perfectly good ones so keep this is mind as you persue the museum.

They have some really unique planes. This Corsair played a significant role during the Indochina War.

One of the planes outdoors. This one is the first fighter aircraft flown by the Royal Thai Air Force.

This one was a fairly fast jet.

A glider. The guide was talking in Thai that I could not understand. But, basically this glider, well glided a long way.

    Now this one looks fun.

Pretty sure that one is a Tiger Moth Hilly. But a great post. I have wanted to go to the museum for a long time but have never had the time.

I went to the thai air force museum last year,it is very good.
They have some very rare old aircraft and a great collection of vietnam area ships.
When I first flew in don muang in the seventies the field was littered with vietnam era aircraft.

Is the museum on the backside of Don Muang, near the military ramp? If it is I've been there before -- during tsunami relief in early 05.

Yes, it’s on the road that runs parallel to the one out front of the airport.

I think I have seen that one in the rerun of some 70s german tv show where the female interviewer went with the king and the queen somewhere up north to visit poor villages and then had a picknick afterwards.
Nice people they seemed to be, the royal couple.

I have been to the Air fore Museum several times. I have taken friends there and all have enjoyed it. If you are in the area stop by you will not regret it. They also have a nice gift shop there with reasonable prices.

Nice photos! In Chiang Mai, we have the Tango Squadron Museum at the airport within Wing 41. A few dozen aircraft and it always makes for an interesting Saturday morning when it is normally open with an appointment. Some of the aircraft include an OV-10, T-28 (in pristine condition), Helio Courier, Bird Dog, Tiger Moths, T-38, DeHavilland Chipmunk, and a DC-3.
