Nope, tigers ride for free.



They ask for tips as you descend the stairs from the platform, and the elephant trunk comes out in front of you to collect it as they say 'Tip! Tip!'

So got the sproglette to open her purse and give it a 20b note, which I don't think they were too pleased with.


I read of one place, maybe the one at the floating market where they refuse to let you (or tourists at least) get off it until you pay a 'tip'.

I've allways wanted to do an elephant treck in Laos. I've heard good and bad about the treatment of the animals so haven't decided if it's the right thing to be doing. I guess it's no worse than a petting zoo or any other for that matter. Looks as though you had a good time. Again thanks for the pics.

Probably replace 15 minutes of walking on a pavement with Fortuners zooming by with 2 or 3 days of treking through SE-Asian jungle.



Mind you. It's seriously bumpy, rocky and uncomfortable. If you've got yer sea-legs go for it.
