Elephant Riding Daytrip - Ayuthaya Elephant Palace.

Kidnapped the sproglette and headed off to do some elephant riding up in Ayuthaya.

Ayuthaya Elephant Palace And Royal Kraal.

    Not hard to find.

Pretty much in the middle of the island.

Tiz good to put on a bit of talc after showering in this kinda climate.

    Some Lakorn was being shot.

Either that, or they know that Lulu was coming.

Your grilled chicken needs will be catered for.

400 Bahtskis, 200 for those under 120cm. So I just missed out by 1.5cm and had to pay 600.

    Turn right to Feed Elephant.

    50b.

Self service so you can slip in a 50b note or a receipt that you happen to have in your pocket, FTW.

That's our elephant there in the background.

No requirement to ride them at this stage, so you can just pop in and feed them for 50b or an old receipt you have in your pocket.

Wonder if any of the mahouts wipe their cocks with zucchini juice and get a trunky off them after dark.

    Nah, probably not.

Feeding them is good fun for kids anyway.

And also a good way to confirm that your not raising a scaredy-cat.

    Lasts about 15 minutes.

If to describe it in 3 words, 'Bumpy' and 'Fucking uncomfortable' would probably be them.

Forced to exit through the gift shop.

Someone gave her a facial already.

Always go to Malakor for some grub when in town.

Not bad grub there, nice wood, always clean, electronic itemized receipt and not some random number scrawled on a piece of tissue paper that's about 3 times what the actual price is.

265b for strawberry smoothie, latte yen, bacon and chilli garlic spaghetti and french fly.

    View is okay.

Got stuck at a few red lights getting back onto the tollway.

Worse places to be stuck, in fairness.

    Job done for the day.

Good quick n easy daytrip from Bkk that a squid will probably remember for a while.

I see you have opted for the famous 'french fries and fruit shake because it contains less sugar than coke, but the added sugar water to the shake is more than a coke' lunch.

Staple of my kids too, when mum isn't about.

If she is, then the poor sods are on the fish, rice/kanmon jeen and water diet.

Nah, she chooses for herself. Fortunately I've conditioned her say 'Coke? yuck!' whenever she sees one.

    Nope, tigers ride for free.

They ask for tips as you descend the stairs from the platform, and the elephant trunk comes out in front of you to collect it as they say 'Tip! Tip!'

So got the sproglette to open her purse and give it a 20b note, which I don't think they were too pleased with.

I read of one place, maybe the one at the floating market where they refuse to let you (or tourists at least) get off it until you pay a 'tip'.

    Lovely Thais.

Nice pics, thanks for taking the time to share the adventure of the day.

I've allways wanted to do an elephant treck in Laos. I've heard good and bad about the treatment of the animals so haven't decided if it's the right thing to be doing. I guess it's no worse than a petting zoo or any other for that matter. Looks as though you had a good time. Again thanks for the pics.

I bet it's a bit better up there.

Probably replace 15 minutes of walking on a pavement with Fortuners zooming by with 2 or 3 days of treking through SE-Asian jungle.

Mind you. It's seriously bumpy, rocky and uncomfortable. If you've got yer sea-legs go for it.
