It would surely be one of the best things to do on a bike, ever.

I just need to get made redundant or sacked or something, then I can make my merry way back to Asia.

Failing that, I'll book a month off in July/August 2019. Pop those dates in the diary.

That's the spirit slaps!! Get sacked for gross misconduct in the work place.

You know it makes sense and a month cycling in Asia will be the dogsbollix.

P.s don't forget to go pro the gross misconduct part and post it up here.

Bejesus i've convinced myself that this is the way forward, i could do with a month cycling in Thailand......stay tuned

I rode a fair way along on laos side . Started at huay sai and then up into the mountains for a while and then back down following it from pakbeng to luang prabang and then all the way down south to the 4000 islands and then on to Cambodia,if my memory seves me right.

I just love the way the mighty Mekong bisects Southeast Asia - taking in all the top lau khao hotspots and cheap rub-down venues as she wends her way south. I mean, what's not to love?

Well I'm very much up for taking a month off next July (if I haven't been sacked or made redundant beforehand) and making the trip. I think its about 2,000 miles which would mean cycling around 80 miles per day.

This would make a nice TD challenge/fundraiser.

In the meantime... during a 200 mile tour of the south coast a while back...

    ^ good point

I cant find a blog on anyone ever cycling the length of the Mekong. I found one back in 1999 but they didnt enter Thailand. They reckoned they were the first to get from the mouth in Vietnam? to the source in China and the only other guy ro try was some frenchie who died of Malaria in 1890 or somethin. Ive lost the link now.

Dilli I think me and you need to be involved in this, but only in a support vehicle kind of way. See the boys off in the morning and we drive to the next scheduled stop, get the rooms arranged, and then get on the piss, split the whiskers of the local lasses, and generally kill time for the next 8 hours while we wait for them to arrive. We'd only charge them a few thousand baht each per day to supply this service as well.

Vientiane, Nakon Phanom, Phnom Penh, Ho Chi Minh.
Could do a few nights in each of those on Luigi style support vehicles, whilst waiting for the boys

Wonder if Land Rover Thailand will be up for lending up a couple of Range Rovers Dilli? I'll write them a letter and point them to Slaps book and this forum. they'll probably let us keep them they'd be so impressed.

The quality of your camera is showing barrylad although the choice of shots and shooting opportunities are top quality.

Forget about the dslr as it is not going to be going on cycling trips.

get yourself a compact 1 inch sensor GX7 or an even dinkier GX9.
