    Floating Hotel, Kanchanaburi

Long weekend for me, so took the nipper out of school. dumped her and the dog at Yai's and hot footed it to Kanchanaburi.

    We stayed here. https://www.riverkwaijunglerafts.com/

To get there we parked at Resotel Pier and got a free boat to the floating hotel

It was about a 10minute ride.

The entire place doesn't have electricity, so it was lit my lamps at night. Was a bit warm but not uncomfortable. Quite liked it as it added to the experience.

    View from the back door,

On the Friday it was a bit grey with some rain. The rooms went straight out onto the river.

One activity they recommend is jumping into the river and floating downstream to the start of the hotel. It was quite deep as I could never touch the floor, best not to think about what might be in there with me.

I'd like to see what morning looks like
Don't wanna drink pint after pint
I wanna wake up without feeling sick
    But I can't cuz I'm a drug-abusing alcoholic

it was also a handy escape from any fires.

Breakfast and Dinner was included in the price, but you had to pay for lunch. Breakfast was a pretty dire ham, egg and barely cooked toast. Dinner was a good mix of pork and chicken Thai dishes.

The restaurant was also right out on the water. Lunch suited me down to the ground.

Most of the day was spent sitting by the river drinking and reading.

A powerbank was useful, the Sangsom and coke quite enjoyable.

A small bridge from the hotel took you to a Mon village.

There was a school, I wonder if they'd pay me 32k a month?

    and the obligatory elephant,

They did tours to all the usual places in Kanchanaburi but we just wanted to chill. They also had canoeing and bamboo rafts to rent.

Nice weekend away. Was blissful when everyone had fucked off to explore on Saturday leaving us all alone in the hotel,

95bht for a small Singha though. ouch.

Looks fun. Was it far away from the city? How much for the rooms if you don't mind?

I would love to do that in the gaff you were at or the aircon job. Are they kid friendly? Mine make a shitload of noise.

It does get very friggin hot in Kan , those huts would be great in the cool season though.

    Don't go in April.

Nice one arms. Have done that a few times and never had a bad time.

Just showed up and chose one based on the fewest cars in the lot.

Ive been looking long and hard at these water villas Armstrong, that price is great. Ok the waters brown and theres no manta rays or parrot fish swimming past in clear turqoise waters ...

Oops dreaming of my next hol but i will definitely give that a go when i find out when piranha breeding season is mate.

The AC ones looked more kid friendly as the bamboo walls in ours didn't soundproof much..
