    Chitty's Thai "trip" in Pictures

Where to start, that is the question!

Had an amazing three week holiday with the family this month and i'm already counting the days and saving the satangs till we can visit again next year.

Considering it's low season and supposed to be the monsoon, we escaped the rain and crowds enjoying a regular early 30oC most days.

If one pic would sum up our experience over the last few weeks of travelling around Thailand then it would be this...

I've got a few hundred pics taken with an old Samsung phone camera coming on this thread, i've tried to capture as much variety from around Thailand.

Without waffling on, i'll let the pics do the talking, here's a few to wet your appetite.

    Enjoy CCC

Punty is missing in action, although i can confirm he sold his batty for a box of Pringles on the Koh San Road after being fleeced by the Siberian husky and has headed to Koh Samet to work as an illuminated raving pole dancer at the Naga bar, the proof is in the pictures.....

I did offer the Scouse twat a bottle of Leo, a tub of Pringles and some old fruit to return posting on the forum but he's to busy with his Jomtien and Silom fruit varieties now..

I believe a charitable member on here has offered to pull him out of the shit with a job shelf stacking at one of his international branded convenience stores..

Don't think I could even find the kitchen subforum in the TD Graveyard Section nowadays.

Absolutely hate aeroplane processed meals, but don't mind the complimentary bar on long haul flights.
Had a monster £12 breakfast at Frankie n Benny's before take off..

    Up, up and away..

What are the odds on sitting next to an educated Thai, fluent in English who is a lecturer in Science at a major university and......organises the Hat Yai Manchester City supporters club???? And he's a muslim, here's the main man.

After about my 15th beer it was time for some Dave Brubeck quartet, Take Five....

The missus wakes me up about an hour before landing with a pen probing my right nostril informing me that this lot needs filling in.....

I was on one of my morning walkabouts and got chatting to some photography students near our hotel, The Siam Riverside in Banglamphu.

They were from Thammasat University, one had a Vespa scooter in mint condition.
Being an interest and hobby of mine we all instantly clicked.
I asked if i could have a pic for a Thai website and she happily agreed, lovely girl.
Met them all up for a drink in the evening near the Koh San Road, had loads in common with them even though i'm a fair bit older.
Music and fashion has no boundaries, still a bit of a trip, but an enjoyable one.
Kids were taking the piss because we were comparing northern soul dancing moves in the bar, one of them even let me have a go on his mint GS150. If i was twenty years younger and single the young lady in the picture....hmmm

Looks can be deceiving, he was one of the nicest Thais I've ever met. Very knowledgeable and could even understand different English dialects. But would he have a drink? No chance, he was a devout Muslim.

A quick stop at Doha ...

Children's play park with a difference...

Thai immigration, about a one hour queue, not bad considering...

Had booked and planned to travel on to Hau Hin straight away, but decided to hit Bangkok for the night instead.

Some unusual looking buildings on the route into the city..

Can just about make out the Thai version of the Gherkin..

Thanks for the cross section of pics. Just living life. Random pics are the best.

Time to check in and chill out.
1600 baht for a family room just off the Koh San Road opposite the Temple...

My faithful old friend, welcome back in to my life!
That big breakfast needed purging and only the bum gun can do the job...

What a bonus, it was blue.

Off out for a wander around the backpacker ghetto or was, seems more like a family friendly area now.
Need something stronger, some heavy duty spirits around these parts..

A few random shots from the pedestrianised area near the hotel...

Back pack patches, not selling too many of these. Seems to be mainly families these days in this part of town.

Just acclimatising the children to Thailand gently, before we went native oop north.
It's a safe bet for a family holiday in that area because the roads are pedestrianised.
Lots to see and do plus easy access to the river boats which take you to Wat Arun and the Grand Palace.
Loads of ex backpackers taking their kids on holiday in the area.
The Koh San Road itself is still to be avoided after 9pm as it gets a bit rowdy.
