Yesterday was up to Mae Sai via Chiang Saen, a wonderful trip, tons of pics, this morning we went to the local smugglers market and I'm posting this from the bus to Chiang Mai, dinner tomorrow with CMN. If anyone is up for a beer tonight give a yell.

Last evening we went to www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g293917-d10766565-Reviews-Barrio-Chiang_Mai.html

Oddly, I didn't give in to the temptation for one of their mad cow burgers, but instead we opted for the middle eastern menu, I can't recommend their food enough.

Today, it was biscuits and gravy for breakfast at the art cafe, then off for a walk about. We found a small pub called the pirate's cove for the first round of dehydration prevention. It's run by a German and his Thai wife and its quite pleasant.

Now we're hiding from the midday sun in a pub called John's Place.....

Seriously, I'd be posting pics along with the commentary if the forum software was improved. I'm on my tablet here.... Just saying like.

The wife and I are still talking about the smugglers market...... From bear traps to barbed wire, to bull snouts, ears and tails, to bats as food...

Pictures coming soon to backfill the commentary...

So you're spending the day getting shit-faced.

Well, I suppose that kind of behaviour can only be appaluded.

As great uncle somjit once said to me:

"keep calm and get laruped on regional beverages"

    His words, not mine.

Are you referring to the linen we saw at the smugglers market?

Apparently, according to she who knows, it was 650b for 6 sq. mt.

    1 long-sleeved shirt = 1 sq metre.

Really? That's a surprise, I would have thought more. Still, good news though, I can see a half dozen cool linen shirts coming up.

You're right to be surprised. You should get three shirts from your six square metres.

    Hmmm....

I must say that seems more likely, unless, of course you want rather small shirts.
Maybe Dr. Bob borders on the more discrete side of size.

You, however, I believe, tend toward the longer sleeve .

On Tuesday, our hosts took us up to the North North, via Chiang Saen, Golden Triangle and finally to Mae Sai.

Our first stop was the Huai Sai Man viewpoint....

Then we traveled up to Golden Triangle...not only is it an area of the world but also a village.
