Seeing as I had a day with nothing to do yesterday, I decided to take a ride down to Kaeng Krachan. It took under 2 hours to get there
from Bangkok.
However - no bikes allowed into the main part, so I headed back via the beach at Petchaburi and the salt farms in Samut Songkhram and
Samut Sakhon.
If you want to go, you get to the main park entrance, pay your entry fee and then join whoever else is there and get driven in a
converted pickup around the park.
I would have done that, but they wouldn't accept my work permit and wanted to charge me full whack.
Obviously I had the money - but it's the principle.
They used to accept work permits everywhere as proof of residence so you paid the local price, but it seems nowadays no one does.
I guess I'll get a Thai driver's license soon - to deal with that.
Still, a mellow day out, I stopped here and there for a drink and some grub, so not all was lost!
Here's a few snaps anyway.
