| Day Trip to Erawan National Park In February 2009, I spent a week in Kanchanaburi. My friends and I took a day trip to see Erawan Waterfalls. We climbed up to Tier 5, and the views were stunning. I tried to swim in the water, but there were so many fish that kept nibbling at me. ![]() We had to walk through a bamboo forest to get to the falls. There were also teak trees in the park. Many of my photos are on my laptop that is broken right now, i'll post more photos in the future. It was amazing walking through the bamboo forest, as I've never been in one before. I took so many photos of the forest. ![]() ![]() ![]() After walking through the forest, for ten minutes, we came to the beginning of the waterfalls. Before we saw any of the waterfalls, we ran into this. We had a laugh because it seems to be tailored for Americans and the British. Don't ask me what type of hazardous waste would be out there, but funny anyway. ![]() The sign upon entering the falls. I had been waiting to see these falls for quite some time. Seven tiers, but we only managed to get to the fifth tier. It gets quite steep, and it was hot as hell. I also got bit in the butt by an ant while trying to get into the water. Ouch! ![]() I think the falls would of been nicer to see during rainy season, as there would be more of a gush of water. They were still stunning no matter. ![]() Tier 1 ![]() Random shot ![]() Tier 2 - There were so many black fish, that were waiting to nibble once you got into the water. I didn't brave it. ![]() Tier 3 - That's my friend in the water. Braving the fish. ![]() Tier 4 - I tried to get into the water here, but I kept getting nibbled, and it was a strange feeling. I wanted to slide down the rocks. I ended up getting bit in the butt by some red ants, and it hurt like a sob. I decided not to go into the water after this. It was fun watching though. ![]() More to come eventually.. |
