Loy Kratong is here again and as much as I dislike it due to the parking problems outside my house I have decided to try and be a bit happier this year and go and take some snaps of the festivities.
Sunday night is the full blown party which is going to be absolute chaos near my house.
To get things into perspective here are photos of the setup for the party. This has taken two weeks so far to get everything ready.
This road is closed off completely to traffic on the night.
The old city wall
Some sort of local school displays will go in here I think.
More seating and eating places river side.
This goes all the way down the river about 100m or so.
Lights, lights and more lights
The stage
One of these is needed to get the juice flowing
I think this is to protect the party from incoming nukes or something like that.
Floating thing
In oneof the photos you can see a bridge in the background. On the night they have raining fireworks from the bridge and a 2 or three million baht firework show. Last year was rumoured to have cost 2 million this year the story is three. Should be good, as long as I can find my tri-pod
This week we have had jet-ski racing all week, being an anti-social bastard I never went out to get any photos. Tomorrow I will though since I found these parked up around the corner
There were eight in total (I think forgot to count)
They should be racing tomorrow. If I get there in time I will get some nice snaps
