| The Dog | Pattaya - Mothers Day Parade at the Bali Hai Port Mothers Day Parade at the Bali Hai Port. We continue our coverage now of the celebrations marking the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty Queen Sirigit’s birthday on Tuesday 12th August. On Tuesday evening, a parade took place at the Royal Garden Plaza and finished up at the Bali Hai Port at the South end of Pattaya Beach. This parade takes place every year and began Tuesday evening’s celebrations with over 1,000 participants including Police volunteers, civil volunteers and members of the public who were dressed in the Queen’s official color of light blue. The parade led followers to the Bali Hai Port where a stage, overlooked by a portrait of Her Majesty had been erected. Traditional Thai dancing displays and other stage entertainment had been organized and just before 8pm in a ceremony which was repeated around Thailand, a candlelight ceremony which included the recital of songs praising the life of Her Majesty took place. At 8pm a spectacular fireworks display took place which was a fitting end to the day’s activities. 12![]() 44![]() 44![]() Pattaya One News
