^ lucky sod.
I get 52
^ tempted to give u a red for so many holidays.
I want a job!
I was in Soi Cowboy last night and was told that all the bars there will be closed on Friday.
Some bars in Bangkok are open and serving according to a couple of emails I got today.
Heard that the office bar is open and serving as well as a few in Washington Square.
The Eden/ Harley in Pattaya never closes for such events and some of the others, and away from the tourist areas will be well patronized.
Have to agree with Buriramboy that these non alcohol nights are a boon for those bars that decide to open for business.
Don't know how many Thai ladies of the night will turn up for work though. Most of them I have spoken too actually look forward to the days off and to rest their tools of trade.
Probably stay in anyway
Loy Toy, don't know if i mentioned it to you but a few of us are going up to Jimmy's fishing park on Friday about 2pm then probably onto a certain bar round the lake that will be open if you fancy it.

Bars asked to observe alcohol ban
PHUKET: As a mark of respect for Asarnha Bucha and Buddhist Lent this Thursday and Friday, respectively, bars and other sellers of alcohol on the island are being asked to observe an alcohol ban on the two Buddhist holidays.
Businesses are asked not to serve alcohol from midnight on Wednesday night until midnight on Friday night.
Kathu Police Superintendent Col Grissak Songmoonnak told the Gazette, “It is not illegal for bars to sell alcohol, but like other [police] superintendents around the island, I have received an official letter from the local District Chief asking the police to try to ensure that alcohol is not sold on both days.”
Similarly, Chalong Police Superintendent Col Samarn Chainarong said, “I have received a letter from the District Chief asking me for co-operation from bars in my area to show respect on these important days for Buddhists.”

Whole new can of worms with opportunity for individual BIB interpretation !
Sounds great BB.
Been accused of a bit of trolling but never caught anything here on TD.
Maybe better luck fishing at Jimmy's and then off to a secret location afterwards.
Hope I can make it (maybe not the fishing as I am up in Bangers in the morning) but will PM you about my plans anyway.
"I have received a letter from the District Chief asking me for co-operation from bars in my area to show respect on these important days for Buddhists.”
fair enough.
As a rastafarian, I'm sure they'll show respect while I have a stroll along the seafront smoking a little dope, on my important religious day (any one which ends in a 'y').
... or probably not.
You, sir, are a God among men....
Short Men, who aren't terribly bright....
More like dwarves with learning disabilities....
You are a God among Dwarves With Learning Disabilities.
This was the closest I could get to a dreadlocked gerbil
I am sure they won't notice the differance
