    Hua Hin Jazz Festival 2006

Does anyone have any info on this? I searched on the web, but just as in past years, most websites on this event have not been updated since 2005.

Thanks DD, then at least we have the date (2-4th of July).

What I am after next is what bands/performers are going to play. In 2004 (last year I was there) there was too much emphasis on fusion jazz, and most of the bands sounded pretty much the same. Tewan Sapsanyakorn was supposed to play, but no-one seemed to know when or where (there were 3 or 4 stages spread around town). Great arrangement, but piss-poor PR job. A bit like the Bangkok film festival...
Any error in tact, fact or spelling is purely due to transmissional errors...

I think I went in 2004 and enjoyed it immensely.

Thanks for reminding me; I will go again this year.

It was fun, and a very nice setting. My wife (then g/f) was even interviewed by one of the local TV channels - her 15 minutes of fame, I guess. I missed my chance, as I was queing up for more Heineken at the time....

Hopefully they will have a proper programme available this time, and it would be great to have some more variety of music. The Bangkok Jazz festival a year ago was much betting in that respect.

I think you should go there if you could.

Chill out on the beach, have a beer, feel the sand between your toes, and listen to some live jazz - all for free.

    Except the beer, unfortunately!

A walkman? Surely you don't have one of those anymore? Do you still buy cassestes?

    AAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGG!!!!!!!

Just checked out asiabugle.com, and they state the festival is on the 10-12th of June (Saturday - Monday).

ISTC states that it is onthe 2-4th.

Try a search on Google "Hua Hin Jazz Festival 2006", and what comes up? This very thread! Perhaps I should feel flattered, but I am not. The second (and last) link is to www.morethailand.com which simply states that the festival is in June, but no dates.

And not a single performer has been confirmed yet, and the festival is only 3 months away. Bloody amateurs!!!

Does anyone have any other verifyable info? We have booked a room for the 2-4th, and it looks like we may be in for a dull weekend ....

In case we have other jazz fans out there, I have it confirmed (from one of the sponsors) that the HH jazz festival will be from the 2-4th of June.

Taking the wife and the boys down for a weekend of jazz on the beach - anyone else going?
