Amari Watergate Hotel & BMW Group Thailand
Charity Midnight Run (10th)
13 October 2007 (Saturday night)
The 9th Annual Amari Watergate Hotel & BMW Group Thailand Charity Midnight Run is the only race in Bangkok to start at exactly midnight. The race offers competitors a choice of two distances - 6 km or 12 km - along the busy city streets of Bangkok, protected by a 300-men strong contingent of police officers and security guards.
Despite the late start there's huge support each year from local residents and shop owners along the route, resulting in a tremendous party atmosphere. Over 1,900 runners took part last year and even more are expected this time around.
Registration fee is Thai Baht 1,000.- (This fee entitles entrants to the lucky draw, however, Baht 300.- fee is also available for a direct registration with the Amari Watergate Hotel). All income of the race will be donated to an AIDS victims orphanage in Lopburi. All tickets will take part in a “Lucky draw” with great prizes.
