    Irrawaddy dolphins in Bang Pakong

Ever want to see dolphins in the wild? Here is my suggestion.

Today, I took the family along with the many friends of my daughter to view the wild irrawaddy in the wild. The plan was to leave by 0700. We left at 0815.

This is what I first observed. Keep in mind that this is only about an hour or so from BKK.

This is the boat that will take us on this wild adventure. Problem #1, it ain't our boat. We have to wait about 15 minutes...

One hour later, the boat still had not arrived. So we decided to visit the monkeys that lived about 50 feet from the resort.

Here is a view of the yacht they offered us in the meantime.

The monkeys seem to sense that we were delivering food.

    They kept coming.

hillbilly got bored of waiting for the tour boat, so i decided to walk around. Here you can see a Thai lady that lived along side the sea preparing her breakfast. Something with fish I think.

Someone's boat seem to be sinking...

Saw a fishing boat or two.

Even had a drink of two.

Even some Thais had a sip of wine.

    Finally, we head out.

Total trust was given to the captain of the ship.

And we can't forget the fellow pasengers for only B150 per adult head. Don't you just love dawgs...?

This is unluckily one of the best shots I got of a dolphin. Damn they are quick and my camera is slow.

Not much better. Well, hell you give it a shot!

Wonderful tale and nice shots (well, except the dolphins...).

    Where, exactly, is this place?

Many tour boats were trying to please the tourists.

Tours can be arranged. Some cheaper than others.

After our adventure we finally made it back to the home dock. Talk about wildlife.

Well worth the trip IF you arrive before 0800! After that, the dolphins are rather scarce...

Loma Resort is in Bang Pakong. Just follow Bagna Trad highway to KM 53.

I saw some dolphins from the beach (about 10k south of Hua Hin) last week as I was having my lunch. The only time I have seen dolphins here mind you.
