^ He got caught.. Must have had to put it back where he found it...

Last thing I want after getting away from work is to go and sit on another boat... Even if it is underwater... If they played that Beatles song when you were on board I might be able to consider a trip...

(Oil field trash and Pattaya are a match made in heaven...)

For the uninitiated, if you ever get to Liverpool, go on the ferry there, and you can hear "Ferry across the Mersey" by Gerry and the Pacemakers - a nice piece of nostalgia!

Pattaya - New jetty for Koh Larn boats

New jetty for Koh Larn boats

    Upgrading ferry facilities
    Pramote Channgam

A small jetty is under construction adjacent to Bali Hai Pier for the use of small boats taking visitors to Koh Larn and for sea tours.

Currently, the foundations for the pier are being hammered into the seabed about 100 meters out from the shore by Drago Construction Ltd, who are building the pier under Pattaya City contract number 97/2551, which carries a budget of 1.4 million baht.

Anuwat Thongkam, chief engineer of the traffic and transportation section at the Pattaya Department of Public Works said the project is intended to upgrade the ferry facilities.
The jetty would measure 6 meters by 12 meters. Construction work started on April 9 and would finish on July 27.

You can book rides at their office which is across the road from the pier by the back entrance to Walking Street, its the big blue building.

Thought about taking it but it was too expensive for a tight git like me.

Sounds more like a cruise ship than a ferry and the news are two years old. They quote a price of 1,750 baht and up and another phone number: 0-26511346-50
    That's the correct link:

Plans to build a 680 Million Baht Marina near the Bali Hai Port.

Plans to build a 680 Million Baht Marina near the Bali Hai Port.

On Tuesday Morning at Pattaya City Hall, Khun Itipon, the Mayor of Pattaya chaired a meeting in Conference Room 401 to discuss plans for the construction of a Marina close to the Bali Hai Port at the south end of Pattaya Beach.

The Marine Department from Bangkok in cooperation with private sector investors have formulated a plan to construct 4 Marinas in key areas around Thailand to facilitate Luxury Yachts and larger Ocean Liners.

Two will be located in the Andaman Sea area and two will be located in the Gulf of Thailand at Surat Thani Province and here in Pattaya.

Khun Itipon and other delegates were presented with the plans for the Marina which will be located on the new road constructed South of the existing Bali Hai Port.

The project will cost around 680 Million Baht and was given a comprehensive thumbs-up from the Pattaya Administration.
Construction is expected to begin in 2009.

little problem, its too shallow and always will be, the head of a bay will always need dredging, not good for a tourist beach as it makes the water dirty. Marinas and swimming beaches don't co exist well.
