Ban Phe is 14 kms from Rayong, this is the place to catch your ferry to Koh Samet, you can get a sawngteaw from Rayong bus station to here, or if you drive there is secure parking in Ban Phe to leave your car overnight etc.

There is a 7/11 to stock up on stuff and also a couple of farang style bars and restaurants, also some guest houses etc.

Anyway here are some pictures of the market right next to the ferry point, here they sell every dead animal from the sea you can think of, and yep, they are all sun dried.

The ferry leaves from Ban Phe Pier everyday, from 7am to 5pm, sometimes later during busy periods, they goto three piers on Samet Island, which are Thadan Pier, Praw Pier, Vong Duen Pier which takes between 30 and 60 minutes.
You can hire also a speed boat from Ban Phe Pier to Koh Samet , which costs around 1,000 Baht one way.

The Beaches of Koh Samet are as follows;
Vong Duen Beach, Run by Malibu travel and relatively expensive.
Tien Bay.
Kew Bay.
Nuan Bay.
Tub Tim Bay, They have a post office here.
Phai Bay, Night life here.
Sai Kaew Beach, The longest beach and the most touristy.
Loong Dam Beach.

Kewna Norg.
Chow Bay.
Wai Bay.
Praw Bay.

I like that market because you buy the goodies for gifts and the such before you leave to come home.

I am gonna blow up one of the stupid markets on the way back from Pattaya one of these days. Damn things are only good for making traffic jams. The ones inland from Laem Chabang and Sri Racha on the way to Chonburi. Fucking traffic jam makers.

They are all up a road at the back of the sq and the big ahem non naughty massage place. I just followed the twinkling lights in the distance.

But they were typical local places. Think small goldfish bowl ( four girls ) without the glass and they all had that horrible paste on their face to make them look nice under the neon light. Under normal light and its like they have got scurvy or something The room you go back to, is the room the girl lives in.

Definately non sexy but a change from the gogos and its there if you are too horny to wait! 300B I think I paid.
