Lovely pics, my friend. It's been awhile for me and Krabi. Actually, that whole coastline that streches from Burma along to Malayasia can be spectacular.

I love Krabi now after my first trip there this year. Nice photos.

Beautiful place Krabi, for spectacular scenery it knocks spots off Phuket, Samui, Samet & Chang as far as I'm concerned.

Regarding those hotsprings, they aren't to be missed. Hot springs in a tropical climate, I initially thought it would be miserable. But after spending a couple of hours hopping in and out of those things, I was so deeply relaxed that wasn't sure if I could drive my motorcyle back to my hotel! Natural high, for sure.

I also visited a cold spring (no, not the emerald lake) that was very nice. Crystal-clear cold water flowing thru the forest. Nice... I'll try to find my pics.

Actually, the hot spring in Klong Thom, Krabi is in the shape of a tiny waterfall and it flows into a Khlong with cool water. This Khlong is surrounded and partly covered by dense bamboo vegetation, quite lovely. So there is nothing more obvious than after soaking in the 40 degree C. hot water of the spring to take the plunge into the Khlong to get refreshed.

These days the road leading to both the hot springs and the Emerald lake are paved and clearly marked, but a decade ago it was quite an adventurous trip to negotiate the dirt tracks to find it on your own.

It appeared to me that some of the small pools that make up the hot-spring waterfall were man-made. But no doubt the spring itself is natural, and it is a lovely setting.

I didn't get around to jumping into the adjacent river, I just hung around the pools. If you don't like being jostled by yobs shouting "you, you," it's better to go in the morning and/or during the middle of the week.

You are right, usually they are. But I`ve found that thais use this term somewhat indiscriminately. There are several tidal rivers referred to as khlong and they are completely natural.
The one in question is actually a Huay, stream, not a Khlong my bad.

Wow! Your pics are so clear and colorful, that I feel right there with you in the moment. Imo, they are clearer than a digital camera pic. What type of camera were you using?

Krabi is one of my favorite places in the world. I especially love the monkey pic.

In those days I used a SLR Nikon F601, now replaced by a DSLR Nikon D70.

I share your sentiment about Krabi. It`s where I have spent most of my time in Thailand.
I arrived first time in `92 in the middle of the night on a pickup truck. Not knowing what to expect.
Some thai people running a resort at the Haat Noppharat Thara beach picked me up at the bus station and brought me to their place in exchange for the princely amount of 40 baht per night.
I was in awe by the spectacular landscape and nature in general.
