| Cleaning Pattaya's beaches every week? How often do they clean Pattaya's beaches? It seems like there is a story about people getting together to clean the beach every week? Why do they have to do it so often? Does trash dumped out at sea wash in or is it just people littering and throwing things from their boats? |

| Washing up on Pattays beaches is a heady cocktail of detritus- garbage from boats being just a small part. Tons of Garbage from Pattayas streets is washed out to sea every time there is rain. Litter left by holidaymakers on the beach- unfortunately Thai families are the worst offenders here. Barely treated Sewerage. Then you've got the rest of the eastern seaboard helping out- the Container Port, the Chao Praya River (Bangkoks biggest sewer), various fishing Ports and towns.

| Pattaya must have one of the most unappealing beaches ive ever seen. For a major tourist resort you would think they would make a real effort. The sand is dirty, you get constant hassle, there is no toilets, there is far too many umbrellas. The beach just seems to be an afterthought to the local council and not high on their list of priorities. |

| Elite Member | Was on a beach about 100Kms west of Trad along the eastern seaboard of Thailand. Beautiful and clean and from a distance it was until I took my daughter for a walk. I was shocked to see all of these used hypodermic needles, literally hundreds laying in the sand. Got back to the resort hotel and the front desk said the needles where being washed into shore after being used by the drugged up off shore local fisherman. Beware all, always wear sandles when walking on the beaches here. |
