    Koh Larn Tien Beach

Tien Beach is over the other side of the mountains from Na Ban so it's best to get a taxi here, also the roads are very steep, on the way you will pass a viewing point but the taxies don't bother stopping, 30baht for a taxi or 40baht on the back of a motorbike.

Once you are dropped off it's a couple of minutes walk to the beach itself.

The view from where you are dropped off, the beach is on the far side of the bay.

    Walk along the concrete walkway.

Don't forget to have a peer into the caves to see whats in them.

Long tail boats ferrying people to the big boats, if you rent a boat for yourself in Pattaya there is a pretty good chance this is where he will want to take you.

Nice beach and clean sea water.

Jet skis, banana boats and speed boats for hire.

Quite a few sexy farang girls

A couple of Thai restaurants and souvenir stalls is about all the shopping your going to be able to do here.

Do you reckon Ko Larn is worth staying for a couple of days DD, or just a day trip?

Well, a late night out there would be about 10pm, personally I think day trips are long enough, and hell, the boat is only 20baht.

Surprising to find a good beach and clear water so close to Pattaya... I have only been a few times but will make the effort again if I can ever wake up early enough..

I went there once, for the day. Nice place, but I just went to one beach and drunk beer all day. Didn't even go in the water. I'm thinking of checking it out a bit more, stay one night on a beach and one night in town, see how it goes.

I would say for a romantic overnite stay it is btter than Samet and you dont get screwed with supposed Nationl Park entry.

Tien is beautiful at sunset and after all the daytrippers have gone.

If you are a man u fan u will love the pic of a certain french poet shaking hands with the only resort owner of that beach.

^ thanks... That was a lovely report... I might consider overnighting there the next time my head is too fuzzled from the madness of the mainland and I need a relaxing time....

    (Mug-shots should be compulsory though...)

I rented a motor bike (Baht 200 for a not automatic) and checked out all beaches. This beach I liked most.

But you should take a Russian dictionary with you if you go to Koh Larn... On the other hand most expats here might be happy to see other ladies than Thai ladies (will never forget my time in Moscow... Was hard to focus on the Red Square with Lenin...). But expect everything to be a lot more expensive than in Pattaya by mostly less quality (on Koh Larn - Moscow is not covered by my credit card limit anymore).

In respect to the beaches LEFT here in Pattaya the future seems to belong to Koh Larn anyway. And to me the boat ride to get there is the most fun - like being on holiday even if I am on (a very long) holiday anyway.
