Sattahip 1000 Bicycle Rally Celebrates Her Majesty The Queen’s 77th Birthday

Pattaya, August 9,[PDN]: On the 8th August thousands of people joined in a bicycle riding event held by the Sattahip municipality, south of Pattaya, to honour Her Majesty the Queen on her forthcoming 77th birthday on the 12th August.

Sattahip City Mayor, Narong Boonbunjerdsri, together with Sattahip’s district chief officer, Mr. Chanchai Eim-Jarern, were on hand to officially open the Sattahip Bicycle Rally near the clock tower in the “Krom Luang Chumphon” garden. After the ceremonial ribbon cutting a parade of approximately 1000 bicycles were released.

Mr. Roongroj On-Wong, a deputy of the Sattahip municipality, revealed that the event, organized in cooperation with the Sattahip Cycling Club, was just one of the activities to honour Her Majesty Queen Sirikit under the banner "HonoUr Her Majesty Queen on 12th August".

He said the event was also part of a wider ranging project to encourage the use of clean energy, promote energy saving and environmentally friendly practices, and to reduce global warming. Additionally, he hoped it would encourage people to exercise more and be more health conscious, together with promoting tourism in the Sattahip area during this crucial period of economic uncertainty.
