A medical team at Wichaiyut Hospital in Bangkok discovered that Princess Chulabhorn Walailak, 57, is suffering from swollen lymph glands and a "severe infection of the pancreas," according to a statement released by the Royal Household Bureau. The doctors concluded that the princess has an auto-immune disease called Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE).

Princess Chulabhorn has been residing at the hospital since 3 September.

I have a friend who has it. It's good it was detected early, and her case is now manageable. I know of someone - sister of an acquaintance - 16 yo, and died of lupus just very recently. The girl spent 4 months in hospital before she passed. I still felt the paim from the bereaved one - she was so young.

Selena Gomez, the popstar, also has it - was diagnosed last year, I think. Ferdinand Marcos, the ex-prez of PI, also had it.

I wish good health to the Princess...

Think you're confusing princesses. Chulabhorn is the one that attends royal functions in a wheelchair.
