Thread: Country property for rent in Chiang Rai

We are looking for a long term (minimum 1 year) renter for our Chiang Rai, northern Thailand property. Total land size is 6.5 rai (over 2.5 acres or 10400 square meters) and consists mostly of lamyai (longan) fruit trees.

We have two houses, a smaller "old" house consisting of a bedroom and bathroom, kitchen, larger sun room, and small patio. Nearby is a large, private outdoor shower. The other "new" house is about 50 meters away and consists of a large bedroom, bathroom with tub, office, large screen porch, hardwood deck, and a semi-enclosed work/wood shop.

Near the entry gate is a fully covered parking area large enough for one car/truck and several motorcycles.

We have no immediate neighbors, with surrounding land being farmland, so it's usually very quiet (for Thailand). As expected in farmland in a tropical climate, there can be lots of insects depending on the time of year - especially ants. Wildlife includes an amazing assortment of birds, occasional squirrels, and occasional snakes.

Water is provided by our own well, ADSL internet and electricity are reliable (for Thailand), and the mobile phone signal is strong for all carriers. Neither house has air conditioning, though the "new" house is mostly windows (with screens).

Included in the rental price is a gardener who will mow the grass when necessary, and a property manager will be available for any repairs or problems.

Also included in the rental price (if desired) are furnishings and appliances, such as beds, refrigerator, stove, etc.

Due to rental problems in the past, we prefer not to rent to single men.

The property will be available for rent mid May of this year.

Monthly rent: 9,000 baht (US$300) with a fully refundable security deposit of 18,000 baht (US$600).

Sounds like a great place and would love to be able to pull up stakes in the North East and move to that area.
