Ant,you've been here long enough to know "don't stay in a hotel and expect it to be any good unless it has a farang manager"......your boss should know that too,but considering what city he hails from....he probably doesn't know any better.

Stayed there a few times myself, but can't remember any disco near it. Only place I can think of is on the approach to the hotel, and even then never thought it loud enough to be heard in the hotel, or possibly do you mean the Top North Guesthouse.?

No idea KW - I'm to old for discos now and the music just deafens me.

Is that the place above the internet cafe?

Prop. and kingwilly: It is not Bubbles and PornPing and it is not the TN Guest house I know those places too. The Top North Hotel is sort of horseshoe shaped and we had a room in the southern most 'wing'.The bass from the disco went through the concrete like a hammer until the very wee hours- and yes it (the disco) is located in the building between the Moonmuang Rd and the hotel and yes there is an internet café on the ground floor.
Talking of PornPing: It used to be the highest building in town with a 4 star joint on the 22nd floor. I remember the rooms as OK standard.
Going on to the Top North Guest house: This is one of the 'old' guest houses in town, very popular amongst backpackers, three wings where the two old ones are very basic!
