Hotel in BKK with 50m Pool

We'll be spending a few days in BKK in a couple of weeks. Previously we've stayed at Patumwan Princess, primarily because it has an olympic-sized swimmer's pool.
However checking Agoda, I see the nightly rate is now over 4,000 baht. I don't think it's great value for 4K.

Does anyone know of other hotels in BKK with 50m pools?

    Thanks.

Stayed there wasn't impressed at all.

Why does anyone need a 50m pool it's constantly packed, and why would an old man want to stay in a family hotel that has screaming kids around.

Apparently The Peninsula has an 88 metre long pool. Be a lot cheaper to go to a fitness centre though

The Peninsula has an 88 meter pool-nice river view but maybe to narrow for swimming. Doing laps may create evil glares,it's a place to chill.

Actually the absence of families is quite striking.

    See...it isn't a kid's pool.

    You're lying yet again.

BTW, do you have a copy of that Abu Dhabi Academic Calendar?

You've packed so much stupidity, irrelevance and misinformation in there that it's probably better I just let it go.

After all, 'exposing' you as an astoundingly dumb laughing stock would be a bit like exposing planet earth as not being flat.

You haven't stayed there though, have you.

    You're a compulsive liar.

Just got back from BKK and stayed at the Somerset Lake View on Soi 16,Suk. Not a 50 meter pool but good for laps

Paid 7500 baht for a 4 night stay. The gym was also very well equipped

    Looks good, Mandy.
I've gone with Patumwan Princess...we know what we'll get and the location can't be beaten.
11k for 3 nights though...a considerable rise on prices three years ago. I guess with the tourism boom it's a hoteliers market.

Strangely, reviews from the last three days or so do not back up any of Sicko's comments.

Did you ring them up to haggle? We seem to have now gone full circle in achieving best rates by avoiding cyber middle-men and negotiating rates directly with the hotel managers.
Pathumwan should be no more than 3000 at this time of year.

No, I compared a few sites and the best price was on Agoda, so I went with that.

I paid a little over 3k a night 3 years ago, so I suppose the rise is pretty much 'in line', thinking about it.

Yup. 'Low' season is getting less and less noticeable every year. CM is full of crackers on uni breaks...it's not all about the Chinese.
