    JitVilai Place - Ayutthaya Hotel

JitVilai Place/Hotel on U-Thong Road in Ayutthaya is quite a bargain at 500baht perday, I only got a couple of complaints the shower for the hot water the shower head was pretty grunged up and didn't let out nearly enough water for a quick shower, and the car park in the hotel you had to reverse out of to get on the main street, now the reversing out also involves a tight dog leg, yep it's a bit of a bstard and I can imagine a lot of the natives have damaged their cars trying to get out of the hotel, they got teak chairs as you try to swing round the dogleg amongst other junk so it is a bit of a nightmare, but apart from that it is very quiet and really nice, the reception staff hide in their little office and open a little tiny window for you to check in, they had loads of them in there, but they werent coming out and they weren't letting farangs in

The tv had Sattelite or cable and had a load of Aussie channels on it, quite sad to think that the locals believe that Aussies can actually speak English, we can only hope that the natives don't pick up their way of speaking.

Another bad point was they didn't have an inroom fridge nor any seating, not that I sit in hotel rooms but a nice couple of chairs and a coffee table would have looked good.

Some nice links with info and pictures of Ayutthaya.

I suppose I should mention that I was wearing the bumbag at the time and that my gun was actually at home I really cant remember how many years ago that I used to carry it, the pics of my gun on the bumbag were just staged pics I should add, the first place I tried to book into even had a sign that no guns were allowed, although I can't imagine many people carrying a gun at that time and looking at the sign and saying,"where shall I keep my gun then?"

Ahh Yes aint none on the Island worth speaking of, but get off of Ayutthaya and there are a few bars around in one of the streets, obviously I wont tell you where they are marmite cos GOW would not be happy with that, actually I can't remember where they were as I was pissed out of my head due to the cocktail maker at some bar giving me about 10 free cocktails, should add that after midnight they got police checks everywhere, I mean it's ok if you don't look too pissed and they let you pass, but then I got foking lost, luckily I had taken a picture of the hotels sign so stopped a few people and asked them where the fok was my hotel.
