    A visa to China..

How much does it cost for a 30-day or less visa, how long does it take, and any other visa-related information. We're planning to go to Kumming, by the way, if that matters...

if you're american,............6,200 baht (I think). just went there last month for about 3 weeks

Took about a day to get,..but I think I paid a little extra (why it was 6,200) to process it quick

the Chinese Embassy has a chart/pay schedule on their site

You can choose 1 day, 2 day, 3 day, 5 day service. i dont think it was as much as 6,000 - much like 2 or 3,000.
I would suggest use a travel agent to get it for you rather than queue yourself.
BTW I lived in kunming for nearly 2 years back in 1998....

I think km is one of the nicer cities in china. However it is more overdeveloped now than then. Presume you will be travelling around yunnan rather than living on the city?
