| Visas - Idiots' guide please Probably been asked a million times and I did try a search but it came up with hundreds of threads and frankly, i'm a lazy bastard and can't be arsed to read through them all! Looking to travel around SE Asia next year. We're going to start off by getting the 60 day visa for Thailand before we go out but wondering is it simply a case of getting the other visas on the borders? For instance we want to go through from Thailand to Laos and then Laos to Vietnam, Vietnam to Cambodia and then back into Thailand. Are they all just 30 day visas that are easily obtained? Are there any difficuties going from any of the countries above into each other if our plans change? And how long do you have to be out of each country before you can go back and re-apply for another visa? e.g. Say we loved Laos and our visa ran out can we nip into Cambodia and then back into Laos? Would we then have to wait a certain amount of time before we could go back into Cambodia again? Are there any limits on how many times you can go into each country in a certain amount of time? I'm babbling now but you get the gist!!! Any advice would be greatly received. Thanks in advance. |

| Thanks. Have to say one of the books I picked up recommended not getting our visa's in advance and getting them on the borders as it was usually easier and cheaper which appears obviously not to be the case. I think I better do some planning first. ![]() |

| Thailand to Laos - Visa at border is OK. $35. Laos to Vietnam - Get your visa first. Easy to do in Bangkok. About 3 days and 2,000 Baht if I remember correctly. Vietnam to Cambodia - You should be OK at the border, as Thailand to Cambo is easily done. Check first though. Could try here Welcome to Mekongesl or here Khmer440
