    1. Would it be fair to say that this is not your most successful thread?

    2. Any takers as to why that would be?

Never you mind them Chitty, mate!

They look cool to me bro. You do know the ultimate litmus test of any amulet is to see if bullets will be deflected, don't you?

*just kidding mate... they are cool!

I was chatting with a Buddhist monk a while back who took great pride in showing me the triangular prayer tattooed on his chest which made him magically impervious to bullets, well he gave me a small amulet telling me that it would protect me from criminals but the hooker I was with stole it, which was a tad ironic. Shame really it would've been a nice keepsake.

Hey CCC - I see two of those amulets are on threads (can't think of a better word at the moment) -do you actually wear them?

Amulets and assorted stuff are the missuses area, she has dozens around the place. She occasionally tries to get me to wear one, but I am still resisting the borg-like assimilation.

Even house cleaning staff sometimes take a liking to things. That's why I only leave out what I am prepared to lose. But it is hard keeping everything locked up while relaxing

I posted about this before so I'll keep this short. My BiL got me to literally fire a gun at his amulet to check if it was genuine. Obviously the bullet obliterated it. BiL walked off saying he knew it was fake.

I do, actually. Might you expect anything less....

A couple are extraordinarily valuable - because of the historic association and famed abbots in which they originated.

They are presents from the BIL last time we visited.

    No, i don't wear them.

Lot of mumbo jumbo to me, i'm an atheist.

The Amulet on the right had it's uses..

We where driving in the car and my eldest at the time was sat in the passenger seat.
A police check point was ahead and every car was getting stopped and taxed.
The police officer had a look at my sons amulet admiringly and commented on it, then waved us through the check point.

So it is magically enchanted, it protects you from road pirates.

Mother in Law gave Me an Amulet years ago before I had even married her Daughter. I don't wear it, but I place it on My cars dashboard ,resting on the plastic window between the speedometer and Rev counter dials.
I have seen some big gold ones being worn by Farang in England at Thai gatherings. That is what I expected to see on here, big gold Amulets.
I am to poor to have a massive gold necklace Amulet.

In my honest view, big gold chains/amulets look cheesy on farang white skin.
They look better on dark skin.

No, they just look cheesy. I had one when I was into Muay Thai (for good luck) but some tuk-tuk driver tried to yank it off my neck. After that incident, I never wore it again.

Actually he was doing his stint at being a monk at the time. Originally he wanted me to put the amulet around a chickens neck and then for me to shoot the chicken. He then decided that if the amulet wasn't genuine and the chicken died then he would be in shit soi for killig an animal whilst being a monk. I eventually shot the amulet after placing it on a mound of sand.

Are Jatukam amulets worth anything still? Was a big boom some 8 years ago.
