Violence involving foreigners continues in Pattaya.
Two cases of violence involving foreigners now.
The first case comes from the Salt and Pepper Restaurant in Soi Beokeow where a party ended in an Austrian man sustaining a head injury caused by an empty beer bottle which had been smashed over his head. The altercation began when the victim and his girlfriend joined the party and sat near another couple, a Swedish man and his Thai Wife. Details on the verbal altercation preceding the fight are sketchy, but the victim ended up in a fist fight with the Swedish man and his wife and during the fight he was struck by the bottle. Police believe that excess amounts of consumed alcohol are to blame for the fight which was later cleared between both parties at Pattaya Police Station.
The second case comes from Pattaya Police Station where Mr. Tom Cornell aged 44 from America made a complaint against Khun Saiksan aged 24 accusing him of assaulting him on Pattaya Beach Road in front of Soi 10. We understand that Mr. Cornell employed the services of Khun Tanit aged 23 who he met on Pattaya Beach earlier that night. He then took the woman back to his Hotel and the pair had sex. According to Khun Tanit, Mr. Cornell failed to pay for her time which angered her enough for her to inform her Thai boyfriend of the problem. He approached Mr. Cornell later that night on Pattaya Beach and allegedly assaulted him. Mr. Cornell sustained facial injuries including a suspected broken nose and the suspected attacker Khun Saiksan was located and arrested by Police. He has been charged with assault and will now explain his actions to a judge.
