Bike rider targeted in shooting

Banglamung police were notified on the morning of 3rd January that a shooting incident had occurred near the railway track on Soi Nongyai and a young man had been injured. At the scene, officers together with medic volunteers came across the victim, 25 year old Khun Prakongkwan who had been shot twice in the abdomen. Nearby was his crashed motorcycle. He was immediately taken to Banglamung hospital for treatment. At the hospital, the victim stated that he had just closed up his car repair shop and was travelling home when he came across a gang of teenagers on bikes that cut in front of him as they travelled at a dangerously high speed along the road. Somehow he must have angered the thugs because one of them pulled out a gun and fired at him a number of times, hitting him in the stomach as he lost control and crashed into a parked car. A report was made and an investigation is now underway.
