PHUKET CITY: Five teenagers, including two girls, were arrested yesterday for allegedly gang raping a 14-year-old Thai-Japanese girl at a house in Phuket City last week.

Police say the two girls held the victim down while the three boys raped her.

All five suspects are 14 to16 years of age.

Their faces covered with balaclavas, the youths were presented to a press conference at Phuket City Police Station yesterday.

The event was presided over by Phuket Provincial Police Commander Pekad Tantipong and Phuket City Superintendent Wanchai Ekpornpit

The victim sneaked out of her house last Monday to stay with the two girls, who she believed were her friends.

The alleged rape took place at a house on Soi Phuthon, off Bangkok Road in Phuket City, police said.

Last Wednesday, the three boys came to the house. The rape took place at around 1pm that day, police said.

One of the three boys was reportedly the victim’s boyfriend.

The girl’s mother tried to find her daughter. Eventually locating her at the house on Soi Phuthon, she informed the police what had happened.

The five suspects were arrested at their homes at around 11pm yesterday.

Standard thing in Asia/Thailand. They haven't got the bottle to do it on a one to one basis so gang rape/fighting is a norm. With Thais, one bottle of beer and they're bullet proof. What a ........., sorry I'm lost for words. Give them to the Arabs. They'd know how to deal with them.

Not surprising many crimes such as this go unreported when people with virtually no information immediately call the victim a liar.

And with the same lack of information you have discerned? The scenario is kind of twisted. There were three Boys and three girls, All new one another. One boy was her boy friend. Mom caught the girl doe sneaking out?. She tells a story, to get out of dutch. Not at all an unlikely scenario. Since the girl is not accused of a crime and the five kids are... I see nothing wrong with a bit of conjecture on the events that lead up to their arrest. Hell even The Phuket Rag calls it an "Alleged Rape" so why can;t people try to view it as "Not Really a Rape?" See how it fits?

Could be wrong, We've got one side of hte story, did the kids NOT make statements? Why don;t we get to read that?

I wonder why the two girls who held her down aren't in the picture? Castrate all these boys- Thailand can't get enough transvestites. Or at least remove one ball from each boy. A very similar thing happen to a girl from the next village that went to see friends and was droped of at a all boy party for them to play with. It really wouldnt suprise me if this was true.
But saying that many a case where girls have cried rape after getting caugh out.

Some muppet crying foul for a myrid of reasons can of course also happen anywhere.

This lot are obviously all guilty by way of accusation in the TD court though, so let the intellectuals attack them with blunt knives.

Reasonable people would hold judgement either way until the full facts are known or the accused are sentenced, instead immediately trying to imply the girl was a liar.
