Rain in Bangkok, not a lot, but steady.

The circulation centre of the now dissipated typhoon emerged into the gulf of Thailand this evening. It is still rotating but disorganised. Unlikely to regain strength but you never know. It seems Vietnam took the brunt, but it rapidly lost strength. By the time Isaan got it, the high clouds had gone and it doesn't appear to have been as bad as some suggested.

Update, in BKK it has been raining non-stop for around 6 hours. Prettily heavily at times too. Not heavy enough for floods here, but maybe elsewhere.

Amazing one out off of China and Japan today. Looks like something meaner than a cat 5 to me.

Super Typhoon Melor has been the strongest storm anywhere in the world this year, but it's now weakening and wont hit land.

Parma, which hit the north of Luzon, is still hanging around there, in a weak steering environment, but it is quite a weak tropical storm now.

Nothing else about yet..

the main sat pic on the first page isn't coming in well at the moment. There is another small twister storm developing just off the Philippines.

Small twister storm??
That looks like one bloody big typhoon headed my way.
The weather here ( Macau) has been particularly eerie today.

Another one. Mirinae heads west right through the Philippines.

Asia keeps getting wacked but on the other side of the world there has been nothing in the Caribbean this year.

Mirinae seems to be losing strength recently, much of the deep convection has diminished. Still it is on course to make landfall in Vietnam and bring, at the very least, clouds and some rain to Isaan and maybe even Bangkok. The seas have cooled considerably though and it's quite possible it will fizzle out!

The deep convection has reappeared and some! JTWC has upgraded the typhoon...looks like it might be a bit of a nightmare...

Yeah, formed quickly too! No idea if it will survive land interaction though and the sea temperatures aren't very high....
