One arrested after bag snatch in South Pattaya involving Iranian man and his girlfriend.
Police were called to the South Pattaya Road in the early hours of Friday Morning by Khun Prannee and her Iranian boyfriend who had just become the victims of yet another bag snatch here in the Pattaya area. Khun Prannee was slightly injured during the snatch which she said was undertaken by a man and woman who drove past the pair on a motorbike. Inside the bag were 4,000 Baht in cash and 80 US Dollars. A full description of the motorbike and the assailants was circulated amongst officers who located the female suspect in Soi Ponwitee 22 in Central Pattaya. Khun Proroon aged 18 was found to be in possession of the stolen bag which no longer contained the cash. She claimed that her boyfriend, Khun Somshai had left with the money. She further revealed that he worked as a loan shark here in Pattaya and the pair would conduct similar thefts and the money gained would be used for his illegal business. He is currently being located by Police and Khun Proroon is now in custody on a charge of theft and assault.
